SCHEME OF GRANTS FOR CONSERVATION WORKS ON PROTECTED STRUCTURES .

 

Applications are invited for consideration under the 2009  scheme of conservation grants to assist owners and occupiers to carry out conservation works on protected structures.  The scheme is part of a package of measures to strengthen the protection of the architectural heritage.

 

Under the scheme, a wide range of conservation works will qualify for grants, generally amounting to 50% of the cost of the works up to a maximum of €25,000. All grant allocations will be subject to available funding from the Department of the Environment Heritage and Local Government. Works consisting of routine maintenance or improvements will not qualify.

 

Applications will be prioritised and grants if approved, paid from an allocation by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to the Council for this purpose.

 

Grant applications for 2009  in the Limerick City area must be received by the Council by Tuesday, 31^st March, 2009 .

    From the 1st of December 2008 averts will appear in local newspapers announcing the start of the preparatory process for the Limerick City Development Plan 2010-2016.

It is from this date (the 1st of December) that a two year process will begin were everyone with interests in the proper planning and sustainable development of Limerick City can have their say in the new plan.

Aiken Promotions Ltd have applied to Limerick City Council for an event licence to hold two outdoor music events at Thomond Park.

The license application may be inspected at the offices of Limerick City Council during office hours for a period of 5 weeks from the date of receipt of the application.

Submissions  or observations may be made to Limerick City Council within the same period.
