Affordable Housing

Do you wish to purchase a house in Limerick City but are priced out of the market?

Do you wish to purchase a house in Limerick City but are priced out of the market?

Limerick City Council will shortly have new 3 bedroom terraced
and end of terrace houses, available to purchase at Tower View,
Rhebogue, Limerick.

The purchase price of the houses is :

Terraced - €170,000.00

End of Terrace - €180,000.00

Applicants may qualify under one or more of the following categories:

1. If you are a first time buyer in need of housing
accommodation and the repayments on a mortgage to purchase a property
to meet your needs exceeds 35% of your net income.

(No income limit applies in this case. Accommodation for this
category may be provided under Part V of the Planning & Development
Act, (2000 – 2002).

2. If you are an approved applicant on the City Council Housing Waiting List.

3. If you are a local authority tenant or tenant purchaser who
wishes to buy a private house and return your present house to the City
Council.

4. If you are a tenant for more than one year of a dwelling
provided by a voluntary body under the Capital Loan & Subsidy
Scheme who wishes to buy a private dwelling and return your present
dwelling to the voluntary body.

In order to qualify under category 2, 3, or 4, your gross
household income may not exceed €40,000 per annum in the case of a
single person or in the case of joint incomes the gross household
income may not exceed €100,000 calculated as follows:

Gross Income of Principle earner multiplied by 2.5 plus the
gross income of the subsidiary earner. If the result is €100,000 or
less, you may be eligible.

Applications for the Affordable Housing Scheme at Tower View,
Rhebogue, Limerick must be submitted to the Administrative Officer,
Social Policy & Housing, City Hall, Limerick not later than 4.00
p.m. on Thursday, 29th November, 2007.
